Departure by Shinkansen is like one at airport: it is smooth, clean, and punctual.
A British guy who was my English teacher used to praise our transport technology. Yesterday the same statement was heard by a 82 year old American guy who revisited Japan after 50 years from his last visit. They are the same tribes who have been suffering from problems of public transportations.
I’m at Blacows (Tokyo)
Wagyu burgers. Overpriced (1700 yen) but good quality. Despite claims that “balance” is most important, the burgers lack acid. A good mustard would help, the BBQ sauce even eaten directly on the fries had very little flavor. Since the burgers are already high in fat, skip the avocado and (soft) bacon. They add neither flavor nor texture and contribute to making the burger too greasy. -Skip the coriander potato salad. Only coriander flavor is from garnish. -Vegetables with porchini sauce is tasty but 1000 yen is a bit steep for a spear of asparagus, two slivers of gobo, a forkfull of cabbage, four batons of carrot, a brocoli floret, and two spinach leaves. A bit shocking to pay 7000 yen for a burger dinner for 2 with only a Hoegearden and Perrier to drink.
